Salas Park is private property at the end of Nelson Rd. Go up Pearsall Rd from 410 towards the bridge. Turn right onto Nelson Rd., follow until you have to go across the tracks. Keep going and it takes you right into it. The Medina River runs throug it. They charge by the carload. $10 will cover up to 5 people. They have some tables and hibachis along the right as you go in. They have cleaned it up nicely during the last year or so....I used hot dogs as bait.....the cheaper the better! Good luck

Sorry jesse, wife had me working outside like crazy. I responded. I'm gonna try to get there one way or another.
Hey there guys ! Yes, I did have some luck !! Picked up 3, 7 lb catfish, and 2 14 inch trout ! Not bad, eh ?? Yes, they're from Millers Pond. Used Weenies, and some artificial.....
I was there on early sunday morning....stayed until about 3 pm. Hope to go back within the next day or so to try and get a few more!
I'm gonna head out fishing Friday evening I guess. There's actually trout still alive with the water that warm? I thought they croaked when the water got over 70 :/ I want to go for pan fry quantity catfish though, so what spot do you think would be most lucrative?
We'll get it right soon enough Jesse. You should check out my chumbucket. It's 6 weeks old now and a work in progress. Last week it was melted chicken fat and this week it was grounded crawfish.
Hey Intexas, looks like people are STILL catching trout out there. They must be building up some type of resistance to the warm water I guess. Did you keep and cook yours? I love keeping the skin on em and smoking them. I still haven't had a chance to get out to medina river and it's killin me! I have to go to south carolina for a month soon so at least I'll have a shot at the river cats there. I really want to get down to the coast when I get back too. I hope things are going well with your nephew. I want pictures of your catfish haul when you get em Jesse!!! Put that chumbucket to the test!
TDY can be a pain sometimes....They stock Miller's Pond with rainbow trout and some catfish every year. Smoked trout is great, baked and broiled is good too! I keep a few, just the larger once in a while to eat. But it is fun to see the reaction from the kids in the area ! Good luck in S. C., I hear there's good catfish and whatnot there.....
