So I'm up here in Ohio with my kids and parents and we go fishing on Wright Patterson AFB on Friday. The first two hours, we have a total of 3 bites. I walk around the lake a bit and notice an area with dead trees, logs, and a LOT of rip rap. I put my daughter in that spot and she puts a leech on her hook....2 min later and BAM, she's got a 3 pounder. 10 minutes later she's got 4 fish. Needless to say, we all moved over there. 45 min and 20 catfish later, we figure that's plenty for a fish fry. I start filleting them and mom tells me I'm wasting meat. 2 hours later, the cats are all skinned and cleaned and going right into the grease. I think I'm going back tomorrow before we fly back home. Sorry, no pictures, I wasnt expecting that good of a day.!

hey roddie, yer right that makes a good mess of fish for the frying. depends on the size of fish on whether i fillet or not. i know some guys in ok that fillet everything and they got it down to a science of no wasted meat... unfortunately i never learned that well

Thx Kai. I think I posted it somewhere but I won't make the July meeting as I will be in S. Carolina for the whole month of July but I plan to make the August meeting. My stepdad is retired airforce and I was harassing him about ufo's and aliens on the base. Believe it or not he said he wouldn't be surprised! Lol. What's funny is that there are hardly ANY military personnel there but it is still thriving somehow. Supposedly there's a lot of research that goes on there but it's hard to see where it's done at.
