We are looking for possibles sites, at the coast or anywhere else, for our annual Texas meet. Keep in mind these few crtieria: easy access to the water; campsites for tents/ RV's/ or even Cabins with A/C; Motels / Hotels close by for people who, for one reason or the other, can not sleep in a tent or such; good shore / bank fishing; possible swimming; CLEAN SITE

Any ideas or recommendations should be backed up by web-sites with contact information. Also, the prices should be reasonable and not in the hundreds. We are not looking for 5 star accomodations.

Thank you!

By the way, anyone who likes to saltwater fish should check out, double-d-extremetackle.com for some hellaciously great rigs! Excellent quality, extremely durable, and well made. Great prices too! They are made in Kingwood Texas. I have purchased a few, and am more than happy with them!

They look good. I'm actually planning to head coastal early next month as i want to take my son on his first saltwater fishing trip for his birthday. I'm thinking about looking around for one of those party fishing boats.

there are places in aransas pass, goose island state park, sargent(near matagorda), and port aransas that all have campgrounds and good fishing.  port oconner is pretty crowded on weekends and not much parking at the boat ramps.  rockport is the same with boat ramps.  i will get some info on sargent and the others all have web sites.

I'd gathered alot of info. on places along the Gulf-Coast, Port A, Baffin Bay, Mustang Is. I'll just have to go look for all that stuff. I got packets from Port A Chamber of Commrce. & afore mentioned places. Also got contact-info. from other places in the state, parks out by Bastrop/Austin/Roundrock, Tx. areas & others. It'll take me a while to find the large envelope I've got all the info. in. I'll post it when I get to it*, "Take Care", L8r. James,"VATO LOCO"<;({})>< wink
