APRIL MEET

  Look guys, I meant no offense...Yes I've only been to one official club meet,but....this is kinda hard to say, but there is nothing really holding the group together other than getting out and fishing, and of course, having a few/several beers in the course of things......You may  know I Iove to fish, but...  If I am going to be a member of a club, there has to be some direction and cohesion within it's ranks....  Sorry, but so far I see a vision of what could be, but no direction to follow.  So yes, I am a bit disappointed.  Not giving up by any stretch, but we all need to be more focused on what we want to  be as a group, instead of just a few people wo want to fish and tell "fishy" stories ....  Between the group as a total, I bet we have a wealth of info and expriences to share, don't we?????  Fresh and saltwater combined.....  Yes, I'm Irish and a B-tch, as I've been told over the years.....  And, at my age I've earned it, and don't mind admitting it!!  Besides, I do have the gray hair to say it!  Some is heredity, the rest I earned!  So let's see what can be made of the group, shall we??????????

  Roddie, I do appreciate it, but it would have to be during the week, after I drop my sister off at the office...like I said it sucks to only have one vehicle....let me know what day is good for you, and we can go from there!

Carol, I have to agree with you on all terms. We have discussed different approaches and nothing has fallen into place. It is frustrating to have all those great ideas but nobody wants to put a little effort in to make this a success. All talk, but no action.

If you guys are game, we could get together at Braunig next Saturday. Just for fishing and some companionship. Let me know and I'll be there, weather permitting that is.

The beer thing is something that has been bothering me personally for some time. What do we have bilaws for if they are not being enforced? I need the other officers to back me and the bilaws and start leading by example. Otherwise we could call our meeting Brew-HaHa's, Boxsocials, or whatever. NO MORE ALCOHOL AT THE MONTHLY MEETINGS FROM HERE ON OUT!! We were supposed to be a family friendly club.

What is happening to us?

  Kai, as I said, I meant no offense.....I myself have no great desire to tournament fish...I'm just not that competetive anymore.  I just love to fish, it is my "haven, my escape"....I don't have to answer the door, I don't have to answer the phone, I don't have to deal with the neighbors, and my dogs.....all 5 of them!  Other than working on vehicles, yard work, fishing is my last serious escape, that physically I can still do....ask Jesse, what he has given up, partially, after his back surgery...   Look, maybe I'm "sticking my nose in" where it doesn't really belong, if that is the case, please say something.  And I do mean it, don't just be polite, okay??   When I first met some of you at Bass Pro Shops, I was very curious as to the course of things.  The stuff with my nephew, kinda threw  wrench in the monkey works for a while...  I hate to start something I cannot finish...although I do have too many projects at the house , and my sister will tell you differently as to what she thinks I can still do!  The bottom line is, this group has the best intentions, with good people, it is hard to figure out an exact plan.  Sometimes you have to make it up as you go along...that is reasonable.... to say the least.  I am a big fan of "baby steps" .  This is a good group of people, with good plans.....one meeting at a time, and the best laid plans as they say...can go right on occasion! 

  By the way, which site do you  need reserved?  I can reserve 2 if that is appropriate, and I just need to know the one you usually  use, and can reserve the one next to it to be on the safe side.  You never know if you may need the extra space for rods.....and cooking!

Carol, I did not take offense. It takes a lot for me to get offened. LOL I just had that on my mind for some time and that post just gave me the last push to say something. PM me you private e-mail and I'll send you a copy of our bi-laws.

Fishing is our passion, hobby, and escape from every day hassles. As with that, we have found each other who share the same passion. We have agreed to certain rules and took on certain responsibilities. It is all of the members responsibility to make the club a success. If we can't get our stuff together, well, then we may as well quit and bandon the club all together and just get together whenever.

As of the site, I was just gonna go early Saturday morning and find me a spot to set up my rods. If one wants to make a reservation, that will be just as good.

I leave it with that for tonight. Y'all have a happy easter Sunday and we will meet again soon.

   Thanks Wise 1...I will do my best to be there.  I may have to drop my sister off at work before I come out....  By the way, Happy Easter everyone!  I hope your day is a good one, and somewhat relaxing!  We are heading over to Schertz for the afternoon, right in back of Randolph...wonderful breezes, great shade!

Hope you're enjoying yourself intexas.  I have to go to Nashville tomorrow and don't think I'll be back until Saturday.  I'll know for sure by tuesday.

  Of course I did not get to either lake, but it was nice...helluva breeze for a few hours, good temps, but very breezy for a while.  Good food, good laughs, ice cold cervezas....yes it did not last very late, but it was much needed, and appreciated!!!!  Yes, we all need "down time"...... keeps us going , most of the rest of the time....

Ok, in nashville right now and looks like I won't make it back until Saturday afternoon at the earliest  : (

for reds at branuig you need crawdads and fish between reserve sites 3 to 5 you can buy them at h.e.b. mc crellas mall 281& goliad

I'll try to be at Braunig early Saturday morning, weather permitting that is. You won't see me fishing in thunderstorms.
