I will probably step on a toe or two but I'd rather be candid and get my opinion out in the open, regardless of whether it's valid or not.  Intexas brought up a VERY good point in her post about lack of website participation.  With her included there are only about 2-3 (MAX) regular posters on this site and that does not help our cause at all.  I really try to make all of our meetings and post as often as I can.  The main reason is not only because I belong to the club, but I am concerned about the welfare and future of the club.  Fishing is something that I enjoy and it's great to share that with others who have the same passion.

Here is part of the problem that I see.  I found this club via the internet...most search engines are based on subject relativaty, hits, and activity.  You will NOT get as many hits if your activity is low.  Who wants to visit a site that averages 5-6 posts a week?  Event if a person does visit that website, why would they be encouraged to join the club if seems to have low activity?  We talk about  advertising at our club meetings and yet we can't even leverage an advertising asset that we already have...this website.  I appreciate that Kai and Jesse as officers make sure that they fit time in between to post and check to see what's going on.  We all have lives, BUT it only takes a minute or two to pop on and at least say "hi, busy as heck but things will slow down soon".  Heck, intexas did it and even though I still haven't had the chance to meet her in person, I am SO glad that she's back and can't wait to meet her.  I would challenge ALL of our leadership to put in a little more effort towards posting and participating.  We can talk about all the great things we can and should do, troubleshoot ideas and etc. but it all starts here.

Roddie, no we haven't met yet I appreciate the thought....  I go to texasfishingforum.com, and also texasflats.net, along with the NAFC site.  I am a self taught fisher person, who still has a lot to learn...brought up on saltwater fishing, still adapting to freshwater, it is very different.  That is one reason I do like the inernet....it has helped tremendously!  The baits, approach, what to use when in certain covers, waters, colors to use...  It is amazing.    As they say, tight lines and good fishing!

i am going to promise to post at least once a day when i am where i get internet service.  i am going to get a couple of more country boys to join in and let's see if we can get this thing going.  i fish a lot and will post up what is biting and what i am catching it on.  i may not give out all my secret spots all the time.  one other thing i would like is for everyone to get an avatar.  for some reason i do not like giving info to blank pictures.
