August Meeting

i will be in port aransas then.  i am taking my daughter and son-in-law shark and bull red fishing that week.  i will keep in touch.

I'm probably heading down to the coast the first week of October.  Do you take a boat down there tufffish?

I will probably have at least two guests with me at the next meeting.  They are pretty interested in membership after coming a couple of months ago.

i take a boat and fish from the piers also.  in late october and november you can catch some nice flounder from the coast guard pier and at charlie's pasture pier.   i used to go to port aransas every weekend i was off work.  after i retired we started going to the lakes a lot more now. in the spring you can catch a lot of good fish on the jetties and at robert's point park.  the fish are in different places at different times of the year.  also it is different kinds of fish.

  Is it a definite go for the weekend?  I haven't seen anything yet......I called Calaveras, apparently a family has reserved 7 & 8 for the weekend.

   When I called Calaveras, the person there told me that 7 and 8 were booked for a family...so what site are we meeting at?  Look, I get paid once a month, if # 8 is the spot that everyone likes, I can reserve it.  But, I need to know in advance, okay?  This waiting 'til the last minute has to stop.  There has got to be more communication.  I cannot always do it, and nor do I expect any one person to do so...so.......we need to work out a schedule of reservations...is that acceptable?  One month I will do it, another person will do it the next month and so on....ok?   This has to be a group deal, or it's not.  I know we all have things going on, so there has got to be better comunication, or it stalls in it's tracks.  I do not post as frequently as some, but, I am sure this is a common sentiment.  As a group, we need to talk more about planning, or it will slowly go away.  The group is basically a great bunch of people, so lets keep it that way................

i need to go over to calavares and see how they operate.  i have fished there twice and caught a lot of fish both times.  i did not know how there camping works or even where it is.  i will check it out  and get back with yall on a plan.  i am fighting mosquitos at goose island this afternoon.  as soon as it cools off i am gonna go try the pier.  the water is crystal clear. 

  Most of us here are sooooooo jealous, mosquitos and all!  Hope your "visit" is productive!
