After we have made the decission on the name and logo, I say we should just concentrate on fishing, fishing, and more fishing for a while, before we attempt ANY projects!!!!!!! After all, we are a fishing club, and not, as I have mentioned once or twice befor, a discussion club.

We, as the club, should just do what we love, which is fishing.

Here are a few more ideas for names:

Good ideas, yet the last one is a bit diturbing. I believe I caught more fish then you have lied about. LOL

Thanks for starting this, Gerard. We need more ideas, and then make a decission at the next meeting. After that, no more playing around. All of us need to put in some time and effort, or it will go nowhere fast.

Glad to see you on the forum, mike1957. Please take a moment to introduce yourself to all of us and tell a little bit about yourself.

I too am planing to be at the meeting, which of course will be on the 8th of November. We will try to fish most of the day, with the meeting part around noon. Kep y'alls eyes peeled for updates on the site and how to find us.

It looks pretty bleak with the meet right now. Most of the sites are booked, and I don't think that anyone has made any reservations, yet. I hate to say it, but it seems as if I have to cancel next year's meet. But we are on as of right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next meeting will be at Calaveras Lake, as we have stated before. The officers and I will try to get a site reserved, and, hopefully, have a banner by then. Please RSVP, so that we have a general idea who will be there that day. The meeting itself will be around noon, give or take. But we will be fishing all day.

Hope to be able to make it myself and see y'all there!!!!

The meeting itself was a pretty sad one, since only Jesse and Terry showed up. The officers, due to the “low show”, will have an officers meeting before the next member meeting and discuss options and solutions, which will be presented to the membership next month.

I hope that more members decide to join the meetings, since the temperatures are becoming more tolerable during the days. I’d like to encourage all members to make an effort and attend the meetings.

I will not be at the meeting. Just couldn't get off from work for that day. I hope you guys get a lot done, just keep me informed. I'll get with Jesse and Terry before the meeting to go over some important issues.

Good morning fellow members. Hope all is well, since I haven't seen too much activity on here. Y'all have a great day and even better weekend.

I'd like to welcome all new members to our chapter forum. Take a minute to introduce and tell us a little about yourself. I hope to meet all of you at the upcoming meetings, and perhaps at the annual meet at Inks Lake next year. Go ahead and post on the forum, anything fishing, as well as other fun stuff.

I am kinda p***ed off at the darn sensationalistic approach of the weatherpeople here in texas and nationally. They have caused more people to cancel outings and get togethers by their sensationalistic c***, trying to improve the ratings. I for one don't believe a word they say on the weather, I'll find out what the weather is when I get there. get an almanac if you really want to know what the weather is going to do. OK I'm ll done b*t*hing about that. I gotta run for now, Tight lines to all.

Hey Lee, see how I edited the post?? Remember, we are a FAMILY place, therefore the language should be according. But I understand your pain. I too am upset with the weather guys for misleading us with the forecast last week.

After all, we could have had the meeting. But better safe then sorry and cancel, even if nothing ever happens.

Regardless, we will have our meeting next month as planed. Keep checking in here for updates and news.

It seems that we are dodging a bullet this time. Yet, the winds are still going to be strong and we have to expect some rain. It would make a miserable day of fishing, if any fishing could be done at all. Let us hope that the weather will be favorable at the next meeting.

Hey Frank, glad to see you on here. Hope that you and Rhonda will be at the meet next year. Wouldn't be the same without you guys.

I appreaciate y'alls input. It's a good thing that we have a bit over a year to make a decission. The more ideas we have the better. Just keep in mind the criteria I have posted above. Thanks!

Due to the approaching hurricane we have decided to cancel the September meeting.

I know that everybody will understand and support our decision.

Jesse, how do you know that allready? It's a bit over 6 months away. Yet, if you can't make it you will be missed.

I hope to be there, regardless. Just need to make my reservation for the cabin, which I sshould be able to take care of within the next few weeks.

Again, we need info, web sites, and prices.

We are looking for possibles sites, at the coast or anywhere else, for our annual Texas meet. Keep in mind these few crtieria: easy access to the water; campsites for tents/ RV's/ or even Cabins with A/C; Motels / Hotels close by for people who, for one reason or the other, can not sleep in a tent or such; good shore / bank fishing; possible swimming; CLEAN SITE

Any ideas or recommendations should be backed up by web-sites with contact information. Also, the prices should be reasonable and not in the hundreds. We are not looking for 5 star accomodations.

As for now, the Pot-Luck we have had during the meetings will be suspended indefenitely. Y'all can bring food for yourself, even for other if you like, but we can not or will not depend on the pot-luck anymore.

It has caused too many problems in the past, i.e. nobody showing up and the host being stuck with a lot of good food. We may be able to pick it up again once we have greater and more stable numbers at the meetings.

With that, I don't think that there is a need for RSVP anymore. We will discuss this at the next meeting.

In addition, we will have to, sort of, start over with our efforts. A lot has happen in the past few weeks / months. I believe that some mistakes have been made, we got ahead of ourselves, and some tempers are starting to flair. Only this much at this point and time: THIS IS NOT A KINDERGARTEN!!!!!

Our ideas and projects have to be re-assessed and re-adjusted, responsibilities will have to be re-evaluated and re-distributed.

This is a lot for our small membership. I hope that some of the changes are for the better and get us back on the right track.

Jesse, the meeting will not be called off as of yet. You are jumping ahead of yourself. As of right now, the meeting is on, due to that at least three people are going to be there: Jesse, Terry, and Gerard. I hope to make it myself. So: THE MEETING IS STILL ON!!!!! One change has been decided on in terms of the tournament/derby. We will give ourselves until Spring of '09 to get the organizational part done. A lot has to be taken care of and there are not enough of us to get it done sooner. We will post the dates, location, payouts, rules, etc. as soon as we have all that worked out and squared away. Keep checking in frequently for updates.

We have decided to include and make it official that one DOES NOT have to be a member of the NAFC in order to become a member of our chapter. This opens the door for more people to join us and our cause.

We do have Bass here, yet they are a challange, at times, to find and catch. Just as Jesse said, Choke Canyon and Lake Amistad are the best places for them in this State.
