i have been fishing west bay for a week now. the reds are not biting real well, but enough to keep us going back 5 nites last week. there are sharks in the pass. it is raining today and we will be back after them on thurs or fri. when the rain moves out. live and cut mullet are the best bait.

monday the kingfish slowed down a lot. we only boated one, but the tarpon that my buddy hooked into was something else. it threw the hook on the first jump. it was out of this world to see a tarpon jump with line and hook in mouth from my boat. the storm is getting to close for my wife so we are leaving today.

today at the jetties we caught some nice kingfish. i am in an 18 ft boat, so you know how calm the ocean was. we saw one tarpon jump and the boat next to us said he had one on for a few minutes.

yesterday afternoon i caught more gafftop in the lydia ann channel and this morning i caught gafftop in the corpus christi ship channel. i ran into a guy at the boat ramp that did real good at the jetties this morning.

there are trout in corpus christi bayou, some big gafftop in the ship channel and i am having a hard time finding reds.

i am in port aransas now. we stay at lake livingston a lot. i fish lake lavon east of dallas a little. when i am around smithville i fish fayette power plant and somerville.

did i read that right... i can get a friend to be a chapter member even if they are not a nafc member now.

i am new here, but have been a life member for a while. we just got the computer fixed up with an air card and now whereever we are i will have internet. we have been retired for 4 years now and are really enjoying the fishing.
